About Us

The Morning Jo’s (TMJ) was founded in 2017 by Rachel W. to create a safe space for runners and walkers in the early hours of Austin, Texas. In response to multiple alarming incidents targeting female runners in the morning, a small group of friends united along South Congress for safety in numbers.

Since 2017, TMJ has grown into the vibrant community that now meets every Tuesday at 6 AM. The Morning Jo’s classic route is a down-and-back through and Capital, and through UT Austin if you are wanting extra miles, ensuring that no runner gets left behind – regardless of pace or distance.

At The Morning Jo’s, safety, inclusivity, and community aren’t just values—they’re our promise. See you next Tuesday!
